We are TaoApartments, a family business rooted in Taormina, and Corso Umberto is where it all began — our first apartment, restored and furnished one at a time by our own family rather than handed to a management company. Casa Vittoria opened its doors in 2002, in the very building where our family residence still stands — and Neró Rooms, our newest addition, is in that same building today.
Every apartment we manage is chosen for its setting first — the historic centre or the shoreline of Mazzarò — and finished with real Sicilian character, from hand-painted carretto furniture to sun-drenched terraces. Whichever one you book, you're dealing directly with the family that owns it, not a call centre.
Seven apartments spread across two of Taormina's most desirable settings: the pedestrian streets of the historic centre, a few steps from the Greek Theatre and Corso Umberto, and the crystalline waters of Mazzarò bay, minutes away by cable car. Every property is personally managed by our family and finished with genuine Sicilian character — from hand-painted carretto furniture to sun-drenched terraces — so you can pick the setting that fits your stay, whether that means an evening out in town or falling asleep to the sound of the sea.
We live here, and the phone is answered by the family that owns the apartments. In practice that means: we'll book the airport transfer, tell you which beach suits the wind that day, get you a table at the osteria that doesn't take online reservations, and arrange the Etna trip with a guide we've used for years. Ask us before you arrive, not after. Most of what's worth doing in August needs booking in July.
